Colorado Springs is a unique place. With four military bases nearby, it’s a city in motion—people arriving and departing, often carrying heavy stories. I understand that instability, and I help couples anchor themselves despite it.
Clinically Speaking
I specialize in working with couples navigating complex challenges—including betrayal, emotional dysregulation, trauma histories, and deep communication breakdowns.
I welcome both traditional and nontraditional partnerships, as well as military couples navigating frequent transitions. I also have a strong passion for working with individuals diagnosed with Borderline or Narcissistic Personality Disorder—clients who are so often misunderstood or mislabeled.
With them, empathy, structure, and unshakable patience go a long way. And that’s exactly what I bring into the room.
Since opening my private practice in 2016, I’ve worked with couples facing infidelity, domestic violence, abuse, co-occurring disorders, and long-standing intimacy issues.
I’ve learned that couples don’t need to be “fixed”—they need to be seen, respected, and challenged with care. That’s the kind of therapy I offer. I provide validation without enabling, confrontation without cruelty, and insight without judgment.
I also don’t shy away from complexity. Give me a situation with nuance, history, or emotional landmines—and I’ll lean in.
My office is located on the north end of the city in a professional building just across from the Promenade shops and fine dining. There’s even a hotel next door, making it convenient for couples traveling in for their intensive.
Inside, you’ll find walls with bold art and offbeat quotes that speak to truth and resilience—and yes, the classic psychoanalytic chaise lounge (though I’m not that kind of therapist). My space is designed to be a conversation starter, a reflection of me: equal parts structured and creative, fun and fearless.
A Life Built on Resilience
I grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota, in a working-class family that believed deeply in perseverance and community. Neither of my parents attended college, but they taught me something just as valuable: how to show up for the people you love—even when it’s hard.
By the time I earned my doctorate, I had three young children and a home to manage. I wrote academic papers at the kitchen table, read textbooks with a baby on my hip, and sat in supervision while nursing. That kind of balancing act doesn’t make you perfect—but it does make you real. And realness is what I bring into the therapy room.
Beyond the Office
I live in Colorado Springs with my children, and when I’m not seeing clients, I’m often out hiking, attending concerts, or writing. I’m currently working on a fiction novel—because healing doesn’t just happen in the therapy room. It happens in stories, too.
Clients often mention that I look younger than they expected. I take it as a compliment—but what matters most is how I make people feel in the room: safe, seen, and stronger than they knew they could be.
