Practice Values
I specialize in helping couples move from disconnection, conflict, and betrayal toward clarity, repair, and meaningful reconnection. Whether you’re navigating communication breakdowns, rebuilding after an affair, or feeling stuck in the same arguments, I work with you to understand the patterns underneath the surface—and shift them in ways that actually last.
With over 18 years of clinical experience, I bring a structured, evidence-based approach grounded in Gottman Method Couples Therapy alongside trauma-informed care and EMDR. This allows us to address not only what’s happening in the relationship now, but also how past experiences may be shaping present dynamics.
My therapeutic style is active, direct, and compassionate. I won’t sit quietly while the same patterns repeat—I help guide conversations, slow things down when needed, and support both partners in feeling heard without escalating conflict.
I have extensive experience working with:
- Couples recovering from infidelity and betrayal
- High-conflict couples caught in repetitive cycles
- Partners navigating trauma, anxiety, and emotional disconnection
- Couples seeking deeper emotional and physical intimacy

“Betty was a great delight and her knowledge was incredible. It was very very nice and refreshing. It was so easy to open up and feel secure about past trauma. We are now able to communicate with emotion, we are able to talk thoroughly with the needed emotions, my husband seems more open to talking about some of his feelings. I am having more heart-felt conversations with my husband.
Just do it. Do not hesitate.”
Personally Speaking
In addition to my clinical work, my personal life has deeply shaped how I understand relationships across seasons. I remarried in 2021 after a three-year relationship, blending our families and learning firsthand the complexity—and beauty—of building connection across different histories and roles.
My husband and I also experienced the emotional journey of infertility, pursuing IVF in 2022 before welcoming our son in 2023. In a joyful and unexpected turn, we expanded our family again in 2025. These experiences have given me a grounded understanding of the grief, hope, stress, and resilience that many couples carry while navigating fertility challenges, parenting young children, and redefining family life.
These lived experiences allow me to connect with couples who are:
- Navigating infertility and family-building decisions
- Adjusting to blended family dynamics
- Parenting young children and managing shifting roles
- Balancing relationship needs alongside busy family schedules, including youth sports and travel commitments
In addition to my clinical work, I am a doctoral-level social work educator and provide clinical supervision to developing therapists. I offer services in both English and Spanish, and I value creating a space that is culturally responsive and grounded in respect for each partner’s lived experience.
If you’re ready to move beyond surface-level conversations and do meaningful work on your relationship, I’d be honored to support you.
