Why Does Assessment Matter?

1. You Won’t Waste Your Expensive Intensive Repeating Your Story

Most couples spend their first intensive session explaining their history. Not here. Our 1,864-question assessment tells your story FOR you—so your therapist arrives knowing your patterns, your pain points, and what you’ve already tried.

2. Start Fixing From Minute One

The assessment reveals your communication cycles, conflict triggers, and hidden dynamics before you walk in the door. That means more time actually healing—not just explaining what’s broken. You paid for solutions, not storytelling.

3. Assessment Reveals What You CAN’T See

You know you’re stuck. But you can’t see WHY from inside the cycle. Our assessment reveals the invisible patterns: pursue-withdraw dynamics, the real needs underneath surface complaints, the bids for connection you’re both missing. When you can see the pattern, you can finally change it.

“The intensive therapy centers around the BIG BIG Book. Put the time and effort into thoroughly completing this. It provides your therapist with the background so your time is spent discussing the core issues, not explaining your history.”

OUR RETREAT

When the Distance Feels Unbridgeable

Once, a glance was enough to warm the room.

You shared stories, laughter—even the quiet felt safe.

But something shifted.

Now, the silence feels like distance. Inches apart at the table, miles apart in meaning.

The connection that once felt effortless now feels out of reach.

You’ve tried being patient.

You’ve tried being calm. You’ve tried being silent. You’ve tried not caring. But here you are.

You’re not ready to give up—but you’re tired of not getting anywhere.

Not a vacation. Not a band-aid. Not an escape.

This is 2–3 days of no distractions, no phone calls, no excuses. Just both of you, and one therapist trained to hold hard truths without flinching—and still bring you back to connection.

Close to the city, far from the noise.

Just outside Atlanta, you’ll find something different.

Not a hotel conference room or a sterile office—but a private, quiet setting designed for real work and real connection.

Close enough for convenience.

Removed enough for exhale.

Surrounded by nature, with space to breathe, reflect, and be honest, this retreat is intentionally intimate.

No phones buzzing. No logistics pulling you apart.

Just the two of you—and a therapist who knows how to guide hard conversations toward healing.

This isn’t a getaway. It’s a reset. One that begins with silence, privacy, and room to want again.

Tranquil scene of trees by a lake in spring, featuring budding greenery and calm waters.

Our Intensive Couples Retreat in Fayetteville, Georgia is held at 115 Habersham Drive, in the heart of Fayette County, just 22 miles south of Atlanta.

Fayetteville is a welcoming Southern town built around a historic downtown square, anchored by the Fayette County Courthouse — one of Georgia’s oldest still in use. The Habersham Drive area sits in a quiet professional pocket, just minutes from the revitalized Main Street district. There you’ll find boutique shops, cafés, the courthouse lawn, and the new City Center: an easy, walkable escape from big-city bustle between sessions.

Couples traveling in have several comfortable lodging options nearby. These include the Quality Inn near the Historic Downtown Square and the Hampton Inn Atlanta/Fayetteville, along with the charming Pleasanton Courtyard Bed and Breakfast for a more intimate stay.

When it’s time to eat, downtown delivers. Try Vetro 1925 for upscale Italian in the historic Old Post Office, or City Cafe and Bakery for a beloved brunch. For something heartier, Frank’s @ The Old Mill serves chargrilled oysters and Southern fare, while the Olde Courthouse Tavern and Twisted Taco offer relaxed local favorites.

For a quiet walk to decompress, McCurry Park and the picturesque Starr’s Mill are both just a short drive away.

What a couples retreat in Atlanta looks like

Over the course of your marriage therapy retreat, you’ll work closely with your therapist in a structured, emotionally attuned process that goes far beyond weekly sessions. This is therapy that doesn’t skim the surface—it dives.

You’ll begin with a thorough assessment of your relationship—what’s working, what’s hurting, and what needs to change. From there, your therapist will guide you through targeted conversations that uncover deeper patterns, open up honest dialogue, and create space for healing. There will be difficult moments—but also breakthroughs. Laughter. Relief. And often, a sense that you’re finally on the same team again.

This isn’t just about fixing what’s broken. It’s about building something better, together.

How is all of this done?

We don’t expect you to know. That’s our job.

That’s why we’ve designed a clear, guided process—human to human. No guessing. No “pick from a list of strangers.”

Just a conversation that starts with listening—really listening—and leads to a therapist who truly fits.

We’ll walk you through what to expect, how we personalize the experience, and what it’s like to work with someone who actually gets it.

Whether you’re arriving with doubt, hope, or just a deep sense that something needs to change—this is your first real step.
